1 day HALCON software Basics
Last search
HALCON is a powerful machine vision development system. It can be used in a wide range of application areas and offers an extensive set of operators combined with optimized data structures. It is designed to fulfill the needs of OEMs and system integrators when developing state-of-the-art vision systems. In addition to the library functions, HALCON comprises tools that make the development significantly easier, e.g., HDevelop, which is used for prototyping and image inspection.
Audience
This course is intended for vision engineers, who have some knowledge about machine vision or experienced vision engineers, who want to learn the advantages of HALCON application development and prototyping.
Prerequisites
This course is intended for vision engineers who have some knowledge about machine vision and want to start using HALCON for application development and prototyping.
Content
Vision intro
Establishment of functional specification for a Vision Projecrt
Pre-processing, variations, measurement protocol, segmentation,
classification algorithms, picture characteristics, decision tree, HMI
Halcon architecture
Operating systems - Windows, Linux, Solaris
Libraries - C, C++, C#, Visual Basic . NET. Delphi

The goal of this course is to teach participant the philosophy and basis skills necessary to start working with HALCON. The basis functionality is presented to give ideas which part of HALCON can be used for different application areas and how solutions are being developed.
At the end of day, participants will be able to
Ask the right questions before starting a vision project
Find all necessary information for working with HALCON
Use all the basis tools that come with HALCON’
Know the basic concepts of the HALCON data structures
Know specific details on application development like licensing, updates, and support
The aim of this course is to learn working with HDevelop by programming simple example applications supervised by an experienced coach. First, the participants learn how to acquire images from a camera. This is always the first step before being able to do serious machine vision. Building on that, the participants first develop a small blob analysis application, and after that a matching application. During this process the needed concepts are introduced step by step
Costs are 245 euro per person including lunch. If you buy a Halcon Development licence within 2 months after you followed the course you will get 245 euro as a discount on the licence.
Minimum 8 attendees.
